FEEL GOOD
Concept
For this collection, my sources of inspiration was to grab back to my Filipino heritage and combine these with the aesthetics of fashion designers I admire. The images shown below are traditional Filipino garments from the colonial times, followed by notes of the key details of the designers, which I found to be the most important.
THE DESIGN PROCESS
I went through major changes in between my 1st and 2nd design processes. The biggest struggle was that the initial collections seemed too costume-like and too exaggerated for a 'ready-to-wear' collection.
Final Design step
The Final key to give my design some realism and life was to base my design of draping of pre-existing garments, to understand the movements of the garments. Out of these draping I based and inspired my final designs.
